FAQ

Filter Selection & Technical Requirements

Different filtration technologies are designed for different process conditions. Bag filters are commonly used for general liquid filtration, cartridge filters for finer particle removal, basket strainers for coarse filtration, and self-cleaning or backwash filters for applications requiring automatic cleaning and reduced manual maintenance.
Magnetic filters, titanium rod filters, and membrane filtration systems are also available for specific separation requirements.

For accurate filter selection, please provide the process medium, required flow rate, filtration accuracy, working pressure, operating temperature, viscosity, solids content, connection size, and material requirements.
For complex applications, information about particle characteristics and operating cycles is also helpful.

The available filtration range depends on the filtration technology. For example, our automatic brush self-cleaning filters are available from 20–3000 μm, multi-column backwash filters from 5–1000 μm, and filter bags from approximately 0.5–2000 μm. Finer filtration can be achieved with cartridge or membrane filtration systems.

Flow capacity varies by filter type and model. Our standard automatic brush self-cleaning filters cover approximately 50–3000 m³/h, while stainless steel bag filter configurations range from approximately 10–600 m³/h.
Actual sizing should also consider filtration accuracy, viscosity, solids loading, and allowable pressure drop.

Filter Technology & Automatic Cleaning

A bag filter uses a filter bag to retain suspended particles and is commonly used for general industrial liquid filtration.
A cartridge filter uses one or multiple filter cartridges and is generally selected when finer or more controlled particle removal is required. Cartridge filters can also be used as pretreatment or security filtration before downstream membrane processes.

A self-cleaning filter is suitable for applications where contaminants continuously accumulate and frequent manual cleaning would interrupt production.
Depending on the application, brush, scraper, suction, or backwash cleaning technologies can be selected to remove accumulated contaminants and reduce manual maintenance.

Depending on the equipment design, automatic cleaning can be initiated by differential pressure, preset time intervals, or automatic control logic.
For example, automatic brush self-cleaning filters can use differential-pressure and timer-based cleaning to remove and discharge accumulated contaminants automatically.

Certain self-cleaning filter configurations are designed to maintain downstream flow during cleaning. For example, automatic brush self-cleaning filters can perform cleaning and blowdown without interrupting the main filtration flow.
Actual operation depends on the selected filter configuration.

Filter Housings & Filter Elements

Depending on the filter type and application, housing materials include SUS304, SUS316L, and polypropylene (PP).
Material selection should be based on chemical compatibility, operating temperature, pressure, and process requirements.

Available filter bag materials include PP (Polypropylene), PE (Polyethylene), Nylon, PTFE, stainless steel, and multi-layer oil-absorbing filter bags.
The appropriate material should be selected according to filtration accuracy, chemical compatibility, temperature, and operating conditions.

Single-bag filters are generally suitable for lower or moderate flow requirements, while multi-bag housings provide a larger total filtration area for higher-flow applications.
Our stainless steel bag filters are available from single-bag to 20-bag configurations, with reference flow rates ranging from approximately 10 to 600 m³/h.

A basket strainer is primarily used for coarse particle removal in pipelines. It intercepts larger solid contaminants before they reach pumps, compressors, instruments, and other downstream equipment.
The internal basket can be removed for cleaning and reused.

Applications & Maintenance

Magnetic filters are primarily designed to capture ferromagnetic contaminants from liquid and semi-fluid process materials.
They can be used in food, chemical, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and fine-chemical processing applications where iron contamination needs to be controlled.

Yes. Different filtration configurations can be selected for viscous liquids according to viscosity, temperature, flow rate, and solids content.
For media whose viscosity changes significantly with temperature, a jacketed filter can help maintain the required process temperature. Typical applications include honey, syrup, resin, ink, and lubricating oil.

Yes. Certain filter elements are designed for cleaning and reuse.
For example, stainless steel sintered mesh cartridges can be cleaned by backwashing, ultrasonic cleaning, or chemical cleaning, while titanium rod filter elements can also be washed and reused.

There is no single fixed replacement interval. Service life depends on solids loading, particle size, filtration accuracy, flow rate, viscosity, pressure differential, and operating time.
Filter bags or cartridges should therefore be inspected and replaced according to actual operating conditions and filtration performance.

Filtration Applications, Systems & Customization

ltrafiltration systems use hollow-fiber membrane technology to retain contaminants such as bacteria, rust, and colloids, while allowing water and low-molecular-weight substances to pass through the membrane.
Our UF systems can provide filtration accuracy down to 0.01 μm.

Our filtration equipment can be used across water treatment, chemical processing, petrochemicals, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, electronics, coatings, inks, resins, oils, metal processing, environmental treatment, and other industrial processes.
The appropriate filtration technology is selected according to the process medium, contaminant characteristics, and required separation performance.
